Rudy's Failed Post-9/11 Power Grab

Within days of the September 11th attack, Rudolph Giuliani was seeking ways to extend his power. One proposal was to postpone the inauguration to extend his term for a few months. Another option was to disregard the term limits law and run as a candidate on the Conservative Party line.

These schemes where shut down by opposition from good-government groups and editorials.

Rudy couldn't cut it as a national candidate in the 2008 Presidential race. Now he's thinking about running for Governor of New York in the 2010 campaign. I say "Thanks, but no thanks."
